Electronic Arts Inc. and EA SPORTS™ have unveiled EA SPORTS Madden NFL 24, featuring enhanced gameplay depth for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions. The game introduces the next evolution of FieldSENSE™ and SAPIEN Technology, delivering greater control and realism. SAPIEN Technology reconstructs character skeletons, resulting in improved body definition and variation, making the players more human-like and anatomically correct. This advancement, combined with FieldSENSE, creates lifelike movement patterns on the field.
Madden NFL 24 enhances the football experience with numerous improvements while bringing back fan-favorite features like Superstar Mode and mini-games (available on PS5™, Xbox Series X|S, and PC). These additions offer exciting and educational ways to play and learn the game. Moreover, for the first time, players can enjoy cross-platform play with friends, regardless of their gaming platform, with support for PS5™, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in head-to-head and select online multiplayer modes.
Mike Mahar, Senior Producer of Madden NFL, stated, “After the success of FieldSENSE in the previous edition, which became one of the best-selling years in the Madden NFL franchise’s history, we are taking it a step further in Madden NFL 24 by addressing the areas our fans desire the most. We have introduced more ways to play with mini-games and Superstar, increased realism through FieldSENSE, enhanced immersion with foundational football improvements, and introduced SAPIEN Technology – all of which bring the game closer to the NFL experience our fans crave.”
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen graces the cover of Madden NFL for the first time, making him the first player from the Bills to achieve this honor. Allen, known for his dynamic playmaking, holds the NFL record for total touchdowns in his first five seasons, making him the most utilized player in Madden NFL 23.
Expressing his gratitude, Josh Allen said, “As a lifelong fan of Madden NFL, I am deeply honored to be the first Buffalo Bills player on the cover, and I couldn’t have reached this milestone without the support of my team and the Bills Mafia. The return of Superstar and mini-games in Madden is exciting, and I am thrilled for fans to witness the evolution of these experiences.”
The gameplay in Madden NFL 24 for PS5™, Xbox Series X|S, and PC offers increased realism. FieldSENSE improvements provide enhanced control in throwing, catching, and tackling, while SAPIEN Technology brings more body definition, resulting in smoother athletic movements. Additional upgrades on these platforms include:
- Hit Everything: New contested catch tackles give players more control to defend against receivers, and various tackle types like Wrap tackles, Scoop tackles, and new Hit-Stick animations add variety and personality on defense. Dynamic branching technology now expands to blocking as well.
- Skill Based Passing: Skill Based Passing makes throwing and catching feel more fluid. The catching system has been overhauled to ensure receivers maintain their momentum when catching the ball. Hitting a receiver in stride feels better than ever, granting players more control to break free and gain yards after the catch. Numerous new passing and catching animations capture the authenticity players expect, including dive catches, no-look passes, and game-changing moments unique to Madden.
- Foundational Football: Enhancements across blocking, ball carrier pathfinding, quarterback decision making, and defensive back behaviors not only instill confidence in AI teammates executing the gameplan but also deliver an authentic challenge. An all-new post-play engine brings the emotion of an NFL game to life with more realistic reactions, as well as emotive celebrations and frustrations.
- Superstar Mode: Superstar makes a comeback with modernized versions of beloved experiences like the NFL Combine journey and Road To The Draft. New additions, such as 3v3 Superstar Showdown, allow fans to live their NFL fantasies with friends.
- Mini-Games: Test your skills with dozens of new mini-games, including moving obstacles and destructible targets in Franchise training camp or weekly strategy. They can be accessed from the main menu and are also available every week in Superstar Mode.
- Franchise: The popular Madden NFL mode receives added depth, addressing top community requests such as contract restructuring, trade improvements, and deeper customization, among others. Additionally, mini-games return with training camp and weekly training.
