The player ratings for the highly anticipated Madden 24 by EA Sports are currently being unveiled, with safety ratings taking the spotlight on Monday. However, there is already a fair share of discontent among Pittsburgh Steelers fans due to the rankings.
Minkah Fitzpatrick, the talented safety for the Steelers, finds himself ranked second in this year’s game, trailing Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James by a significant two-point margin.
This rating disparity has raised eyebrows, particularly for Fitzpatrick supporters, considering his strong performance in last year’s All-Pro voting. As a three-time All-Pro, Fitzpatrick garnered an impressive 45 votes from members of the Associated Press, compared to James’ 13. Notably, Fitzpatrick outshined James in interceptions, passes defended, and tackles throughout the 2022 season.
It is worth noting that Madden has made an improvement in Fitzpatrick’s rating compared to last year, where he was inexplicably ranked 11th among safeties despite his All-Pro achievements.
Following the release of wide receiver and safety ratings on Monday, Tuesday will showcase the numbers for edge rushers and defensive linemen. On Wednesday, running backs and offensive linemen will take the stage, followed by cornerbacks and tight ends on Thursday. The highly anticipated release of quarterback and linebacker ratings will headline on Friday, with punters, kickers, and fullbacks rounding out the final ratings later in the day.
