This lack of drama can be attributed to the dominance of Aaron Donald, who is widely regarded as the best player in the league and one of the greatest of all time. Once again, the star from the Los Angeles Rams has secured his place in the prestigious 99 club for Madden NFL 24, occupying the highest position on the list of elite defensive linemen. This list was released on Tuesday.
The offseason proved to be quite eventful for defensive tackles, with Quinnen Williams, Jeffery Simmons, Daron Payne, Dexter Lawrence, Javon Hargrave, and Ed Oliver all signing significant contracts worth at least $17 million per year.
However, despite their lucrative deals, they are all still chasing after Aaron Donald in terms of both financial success and Madden rankings. Here is EA’s top ranked Defensive Tackles for Madden 24:
Player | Team | Overall |
---|---|---|
1. Aaron Donald | Los Angeles Rams | 99 overall |
2. Chris Jones | Kansas City Chiefs | 96 overall |
3. Dexter Lawrence II | New York Giants | 94 overall |
4. Quinnen Williams | New York Jets | 93 overall |
5. Cameron Heyward | Pittsburgh Steelers | 93 overall |
6. Jonathan Allen | Washington Commanders | 92 overall |
7. Jeffery Simmons | Tennessee Titans | 89 overall |
8. Vita Vea | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 88 overall |
9. D.J. Reader | Cincinnati Bengals | 87 overall |

Donald, the standout player for the Rams, holds the title of the league’s highest-paid defensive tackle, earning an average annual value of $31.7 million. This remarkable compensation is well-deserved. His extraordinary accomplishments include a Super Bowl victory, seven First Team All-Pro selections, three Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year awards, an Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award, and nine Pro Bowl selections.
Although last season fell short of his usual elevated standards, with Donald playing in only 11 games and producing 49 tackles, five sacks, two passes defended, one fumble recovery, and one forced fumble, his overall performance remains impressive.
